Favorite Fabric Pairings

by Jennifer

Hi everyone, and happy Friday to you!  I’ve been working almost nonstop this week on the great sofa makeover and am so (sososososososoSO) happy to tell you that I am VERY close to being finished and I LOVE the results.  I am quite certain I won’t spend one moment missing the dark brown leather that has lived with us for the past six and a half years.  She looks soooo much better in ivory velvet.  Here’s a sneak peek:

I’ll share finished photos soon but today wanted to share some of my favorite geometric and botanical fabric pairings.  If you’ve been following for any time now, you’ve probably noticed I like mixing patterns!  When I was contacted recently by an old high school friend looking for some help updating the bench in her mudroom, I suggested she might want to go with a geometric fabric on the bench cushion and a botanical for an accent pillow.  She ultimately chose this combination, which I totally adore and may add exactly on a little bench I’ve been wanting to reupholster in my guest room.

And a few other of my favorite (and affordable!) pairings.
Annie Selke Links Citrus | Annie Selke Hot House Flowers Verde

Waverly Cross Section Charcoal | Annie Selke Hot House Floral Fall
Annie Selke October Stripe | Annie Selke Toadstool Russet
Waverly Seeing Spots Noir | Waverly Santa Maria Desert Flower

I also, just yesterday, came to Tonic Living via Danielle Oakey’s blog, who is always a great source of inspiration and bright, happy interiors.  Tonic looks like an amazing source for great fabrics and I can’t wait to poke around a little more.

Come back Monday for the reveal of a semi-secret furniture project I’ve been working on.  It’s not the sofa, but I’m almost as excited about it and can’t wait to show you!

Meet Jen

I'm a design and DIY lover, decorator, modern home-maker, foodie, fashion enthusiast, and jill-of-all-trades when it comes to home improvement. I'm slowly but surely adding classic-contemporary style to my early 90's colonial home one inch at a time and I'm taking you along for the ride.

It's often messy - there are usually project remnants and toys strewn about - but the making of a home isn't always tidy work and I love showing you how you can make and style and organize your way to a home and a life you love!
